Research Assistant I (Ref: RAI/APS/0620)

The appointee will be responsible for supporting research and administration related work for a research project related to developing and validating an automatic audio-based classroom analytics system which can provide teachers with timely feedback to their teaching practices on a daily basis. He/she will assist in using devices (e.g., microphone, IC recorders, eye-tracker, sensors, video cameras and so on) for data collection, data extraction and analysis, literature review, implementing machine learning algorithms, managing administrative work, and performing any other duties, as assigned by the project leader. The appointment will be for a period of around 8 months with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s or Doctoral degree, in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or other related fields. They should also have rich experiences in programming and data analytics, and proficiency in writing and speaking in English and Chinese. Experience in using the above devices will be an advantage.
