Mr. Sam Choi Chun-wai, a Lecturer, Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS), has been awarded the Faculty Teaching Awards 2018/2019. His research interest is in the studies of historical political geography and urban politics, particularly focusing on cases of Hong Kong and China. He is also active in analyzing China-Hong Kong relations and politics of Greater China regions and often featured by the media.
Mr. Sam Choi is not only passionate about research but also teaching. He is dedicated to increasing the learning interest of the students. His lectures are very popular among students. He can always find a special way to explain obscure theoretical knowledge in an easily comprehensible manner. Furthermore, he encourages the student to apply theoretical knowledge into reality. This April, our undergraduate students, he led, won the Second Runner-up in the first Inter-University Public Policy Case Competition held in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He provided intensive training and academic mentorship throughout the entire course of the competition.
Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS) Teaching Award Scheme (TAS) is established to recognize, encourage and reward excellence in teaching and sustained involvement in disseminating and sharing the results of effective and innovative teaching. This is a great achievement and makes us all proud of his fabulous achievement.
