Abstract

With the growing trend of moving traditional disciplines toward interdisciplinary studies in Hong Kong, the author of this paper sounds a note of caution. To make the approach to curriculum development more rational, this paper suggests a four-level framework on which the design of science curricula at all levels of schooling can be based. This four-level framework combines the traditional approach of emphasizing science disciplines with the interdisciplinary approach to fully realize the advantages and potential of both approaches in promoting science learning.
