It is my great pleasure to see the formation of this new Asia-Pacific Forum on Science Learning and Teaching by the Science Department of the Institute.   I am sure this online periodical will form a very useful, convenient and speedy medium for the exchange of innovative and contemporary ideas, knowledge and resources in enhancing science learning and teaching.   I am also very pleased to note the substantial contributions to this first issue by renounced educators from different parts of the world as well as our colleagues.  I sincerely hope that readers will find the various articles, resources and activities interesting and stimulating. 
May I take this opportunity to extend a special vote of thanks to our guest editors, international advisors, and contributors to this first issue for their valuable support and contributions.  Finally, my heartfelt congratulations to our Science Department under the leadership of its Head, Dr. Kevin LUI, for its success in launching this Forum, and the Institute's sincere gratitude to the hard work of Dr. Yau Yuen YEUNG, the Chief Editor, Dr. Sing Lai CHAN, the Deputy Chief Editor, and all the Executive Editors in putting this forum together.
