9 November 2025 — Professor Sedat Gümüş, Acting Director of the Centre, delivered a keynote address at the inaugural Global Education Governance and Principal Leadership International Symposium, hosted by Beijing Normal University.

In his presentation, "Leading Learning and Equity in Schools: Socially-Just Instructional Leadership," Professor Gümüş introduced a newly developed conceptual model for socially just instructional leadership. The framework draws on insights from his recent research in Hong Kong, focusing on the critical equity dimensions of school leadership.

The symposium convened leading international scholars and education practitioners to examine governance and leadership challenges within a rapidly evolving global educational landscape. Professor Gümüş's participation highlights the Centre's commitment to producing high-impact research that informs global discourse and advances innovation in educational equity and leadership.
