Abstract: 

Multilevel Modeling (MLM) is a popular approach in education and psychology used to analyze clustered (nested) data and resolve data dependency issues. Despite its widespread use and methodological advances, there are several myths about its application. This presentation shows some of the (more recent) misconceptions surrounding MLM, clearly explaining the fallacies and providing practical, actionable approaches to help researchers use the technique in their own research.
