The School Leadership Forum 2025 with the theme of "Leading for Inclusion: Navigating Complexities in Diverse Schools" jointly organized by the Department of Education Policy and Leadership, and The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change, on 18 February 2025 at EdUHK.
The President of EdUHK, Prof. John Lee, gave a welcome address, while the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Human Development, Prof. Bruce Macfarlane, and Mr. Sibo Ouyang, Deputy Director of Nanshan Education Bureau, delivered the opening speeches. The forum also featured three distinguished international scholars: Prof. Muhammad Khalifa from Ohio State University, USA, Prof. Michelle Young from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and Prof. Marcus Pietsch from Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany. They provided valuable insights during the Guest Speech, Keynote Talk, and Research Sharing sessions.
Additionally, the department had the honor to host practicing school leaders from Hong Kong and Mainland at the event. Ms. Vince Wong from Yaumati Kaifong Association School, Ms. Maggie Chau from St. Stephen's Girls' College, and Ms. Yanfeng Ge, Principal of Shenzhen Nanshan Foreign Language School (Group) provided in-depth contributions throughout the event.
Our department colleagues—Dr. Sedat Gumus, Dr. Kumar Bhowmik, Dr. Soobin Choi, Dr. Chrysa Keung, Dr. Maxwell Ho, and Dr. Jiafang Lu —also contributed to the event as discussants or research presenters.
The event was attended by over 80 participants from various schools and organizations, offering a platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives.
