Learning Platform

IELC

This executive Master of Arts degree meets the learning needs of leaders. The IELC is the first fully online and most “international” programme offered by the The Education University of Hong Kong, and perhaps the preeminent degree focused on school leadership in the Asia Pacific region.

The degree was formally recognised by the International Baccalaureate (IB) in 2012. It was one of first programmes to obtain this status. IELC students have the option of completing two different IB certificates concurrent for meeting the requirements of the IELC. In 2016, the Ontario Principals’ Council and its subsidiary, International School Leadership, recognised the IELC as a postgraduate pathway for its certificate, permitting credit transfer into the IELC. From 2021, the IELC will be recognised by Cambridge Assessment International Education (hereafter, Cambridge) to offer two leadership professional development qualifications: Cambridge certificate and diploma in educational leadership. The Education University of Hong Kong will be the first university in the world to offer the Cambridge leadership professional development qualifications as part of the IELC.

Leader Learning Asia (LLA)

The LLA is developed by The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change and The Department of Education Policy and Leadership at The Education University of Hong Kong. LLA is part of the project ‘Advancing Online Learning: Aligning Pedagogy, Course Design and ICT’ funded by the Teaching Development Grants, The Hong Kong Institute of Education.
