About the authors

Dr. LI Lijuan is currently an associate researcher with the
Center for Basic Laws of Hong Kong and Macau Special
Administrative Regains, Shenzhen University. Before
this she worked on civic education and youth
movement as a post-doctoral fellow for 2.5 years with
Professor Kerry Kennedy in the Centre for Citizenship
and Governance, The Education University of Hong
Kong. Dr. Li believes that empirical research will shed
light on China? education research terrain and looks
forward to collaboration both at home and across the
border.

Professor Kerry Kennedy is currently Advisor (Academic
Development) and a Senior Research Fellow in
the Centre for Governance and Citizenship of The
Education University of Hong Kong. Previously he
was the Chair Professor of Curriculum Studies and
Director of the Centre for Governance and Citizenship at
the then Hong Kong Institute of Education. Prior to that
he was Dean of the Faculty of Education and Human
Development and Associate Vice-President (Quality
Assurance).
