APCLC Scholar Practitioner Fellow
Wins Outstanding Doctoral Research Award for Educational Leadership and Strategy

APCLC Scholar Practitioner Fellow, Dr Maxwell Ho, wins the 2020 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award (ODRA) in Educational Leadership and Strategy.

Each year, the ODRA in Educational Leadership and Strategy is given to the best dissertation in the field. As an international award, the ODRA is highly competitive with the winner selected by the editorial board of the Journal of Educational Administration, the oldest journal in educational leadership and management. The award recognizes research with the potential to advance both research and practice.

Dr Ho's innovative thesis, Teachers' entrepreneurial behaviour and its impact in school: Cases studies in Hong Kong, has served as the basis for peer-reviewed journal articles and for professional development programmes for school leaders, including the APCLC's donation project entitled Service Leadership 3Cs for Entrepreneurial Teacher Leaders. The programme is sponsored by Service Leadership Education Limited.

In response to winnning the ORDA, Dr HO commented:

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my supervisors, Dr Darren Bryant and Dr Lu Jiafang, for their continuous support of my study and related research, and for their generosity and motivation. I hope that this study serves as a spearhead for future research and professional development in teacher entrepreneurialism.
