APCLC Directors and Research Fellows won Research Grants
from Research Grants Council's General Research Fund for 2020/21 (GRF)


Dr Qian Haiyan and Prof Allan Walker (Directors of APCLC) and Prof James Spillane (APCLC Senior Research Fellow and Advisory Board Member) received a GRF grant of HK$543,500 from the Research Grants Council (HK). The research grant is for a study entitled “An Exploration of the Role of Leadership in Successful Systemic Improvement in China”. Dr Chen Junjun (Research Fellow of APCLC), Prof Allan Walker (Co-Director of APCLC), Prof. Chiu Chi-shing (Adjunct Professor of EPL), Dr Hui Wai Tin (Adjunct Principal Lecturer of EPL) and their research counterparts in Macau and UK received a GRF grant of HK$532,566 from the Research Grants Council (HK). The research grant is for a study entitled “Investigating the Occupational Well-being of Hong Kong School Principals and Influential Psychosocial Risk Factors: A Mixed-methods Approach”. Dr Hayes H. H. Tang (Research Fellow of APCLC) received a GRF grant of HK$548,064 from the Research Grants Council (HK). The research grant is for a study entitled “Reconsidering Academic Entrepreneurialism in East Asia: Diverse Voices and Critical Insights from the Academic Profession of Flagship Universities”. Dr Lam Bick Har (Research Fellow of APCLC) received a GRF grant of HK$559,820 from the Research Grants Council (HK). The research grant is for a study entitled “The Predictor and Outcome of Social Support Giving – A Self-Determination Theory Perspective”. Coupling with GRF / ECS / ESRC-RGC grants from the Research Grants Council (HK), PPR grants from Policy Co-ordination Office of HKSARG and international educational organisations, including the International Baccalaureate and Round Square awarded in the past one decade, the APCLC has altogether won more than 30 competitive grants or more than HKD 18 million research grants for the betterment and advancement of education in Hong Kong and beyond.
