Self Introduction

Dr. Hoi-huen CHAN is a highly accomplished scholar and educator with a strong background in Biochemistry, Physiology and Education. After obtaining Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Master of Philosophy in Physiology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, she received Doctor of Philosophy in Biology as well as Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Hong Kong Baptist University.   

Prior to joining EdUHK, she served as a Lecturer at tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. Apart from teaching courses in Biology and Health Sciences, she was assigned as an Assistant Programme Leader of Health Studies. With her working experience in the tertiary education sector, she is able to provide valuable guidance and external support to students about further education or employment opportunities. 

Her research interests include but not limited to Biology and STEM Education. Among her published research papers in international journals and conference proceedings, the latest publications are in Frontiers in Pharmacology and also Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine. With her high degree of professionalism and commitment to research, she is capable to receive grants from The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to support her work in the development of AI labs and STEM maker projects.
