EdUHK Alumni Cantonese Opera Concert Promotes the Legacy of Cantonese Performing Arts
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) today (November 19) held the EdUHK Alumni Cantonese Opera Concert at the Grand Theatre of the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District. Co-organised by the Xiqu and Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre (XICH) and the Department of Culture and Creative Arts (CCA), the concert was one of the celebration activities for the 30th anniversary of EdUHK, as well as part of the project “The Legacy of Cantonese Arts 2023-24”. The aim of the project is to promote Lingnan arts and Cantonese culture through various activities, and to commemorate the late Dr Kwong Kai-to, who was an EdUHK Honorary Fellow, and a veteran educator, Chinese calligrapher and artist, who devoted his life to the promotion and development of Chinese arts and cultural education.
The concert invited EdUHK alumni and guests from different fields to showcase their talents and made significant contributions to the promotion and development of Cantonese opera together.
