Research Expertise

Staff in the Department have strong expertise in health/community psychology and the psychology of language and reading. Other areas of growing strength include cognitive/neuro, developmental/educational, and social/cultural psychology.

Closely linked with the Department are the Language Acquisition Area of Strength and Positive Psychology and Education Area of Strength, two Faculty-level research entities specialising in addressing important issues surrounding reading and language learning, and positive psychology and education respectively, and the Centre for Psychosocial Health, a Faculty-level research centre with vision and mission to establish the evidence base for scalable interventions and education to enhance public mental health and to conduct research and develop practice in school settings to the existing strength of the Centre in health and community psychology.
