With deep gratitude, the Department has received a fund amounting to over $1,200, 000 from the D H Chen Foundation in support of the research study in approaches to drama education for curricular and pedagogic reform in the Hong Kong Early Childhood Education. The study, which also aims to identify good exemplary practices, is a research and development project initiated by Playful Learning: Ploughing drama education for innovating the preschool curriculum and pedagogy in Hong Kong, a territory-wide teacher development programme in drama education led by Principal Researcher Pansy Tam Po Chi of the Department. Our upcoming projects include a collaborative partnership with Hong Kong Repertory Theatre where renowned scholars in drama education overseas are invited to provide supportive consultation for 85 preschool organisations and their 850 teachers. Together we endeavour to incorporate drama education in the school-based curriculum.
