Module Code 單元編號 LIN2020 Module Title 單元名稱 CHILD LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT Module Synopsis 單元概要 This course is an introduction to child language development, covering the developmental milestones in both Chinese- and English-speaking children. Topics include early speech and phonological development, word learning and semantic growth, emergence of grammar and development of discourse skills. Major theoretical models in the field will be used to frame the discussions of contributing factors, such as innate predispositions, parental inputs and social interactions. Students’ understanding of the developmental process will be further consolidated by conducting child language analyses.
