Sharing and Awards Ceremony of Creative Writing Contest 2017-18

The 2017-2018 Creative Writing Contest Sharing and Awards Ceremony was successfully held on 27th April 2018. The contest aimed to foster creativity in students and advocate creativity in our education. The contest began in late September, and all students were invited to submit an original, fictional literary piece.

This year’s theme was “Coming Home.” Students were required to submit either a 500-700 word short story or a 25+ line poem. After the first round, participants discussed with an adviser on any areas of improvement, and students submitted a final revised copy for the second round. In total, we received 17 entries, and the Selection Committee selected the top five winners below:

First Place: Janina Celine de Castro Vitto

Title of Piece: A Foreigner in my own Home

During our Sharing and Awards Ceremony, the winners of the contest presented their piece as well as the inspiration and meanings behind the work they had written. Afterwards, the winners were presented with their awards and certificates.
