Basic English 

  1. Synopsis 

CLE0092 Basic English is designed for kindergarten teachers to enhance their English language proficiency for their workplace contexts. It will introduce the basics of writing an information report and telling a personal recount. Vocabulary and grammar will be covered within the writing and speaking components.  

 

 

  1. Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs) 

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 

CILO1 

 

understand context, purpose and meaning in the use of spoken and written English 

CILO2 

 

better develop their understanding and use of language through the analysis and production of different types of text,  

CILO3 

 

enhance their reading, listening, speaking and writing and vocabulary skills through a range of topics (see Course Outlines) and activities (e.g. pair and group work) in the Units of Work presented in the course 

CILO4 

have the opportunity to develop and explore independent learning and study skills (e.g. through out of class e-learning activities)
