CENTRE FOR LANGUAGE IN EDUCATION

Chinese Enhancement Programme

Our Chinese enhancement programme aims at developing students' interests and enthusiasm in Chinese language learning, improving their Chinese proficiency and sense of humanities, catering to their learning needs, and meeting their different needs of future education and employment.

Chinese enhancement programme comprises various types of subjects, including teaching classics as a model for language learning, enabling students to understand Chinese culture and thinking about the life skills of being an intellectual by incorporating Moral Education in language learning courses, and offering practical language training in both written and oral communication. It is hoped that these comprehensive Chinese language enhancement courses can enable students to establish a solid language foundation based on traditional Chinese culture. Furthermore, the course designs combining the use of Blended Learning, Process Learning and Peer Learning can help to create student-centred language classrooms.

In addition to conventional Chinese Enhancement Programme, our Centre also provides language support to enrich the learning experiences of students outside the classroom. We have organised different types of Chinese thematic workshops to provide students with both theoretical and practical language skills. Moreover, the Centre has a wealth of online learning resources for students to practise their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, so that they can truly engage in independent studies without any time and space constraints.
