School Improvement Institute 2018

Each year the Executive MA in International Educational Leadership and Change (IELC) hosts a School Improvement Institute (SII) for school leaders from throughout the region. The 8th such Institute was held in Hong Kong in early July. Facilitated by Dr. Darren Bryant and Dr. Lu Jiafang, the theme of this year is “Team Leadership in Context” – discussing school governance and leadership issues when facing external and group-level challenges.

The three-day Institute consists of a balanced combination of provocation lectures, data analysis, and team-based work that connects to pre-arrival preparation and after-institute assessment. This year we are privileged to have invited Dr. Gerard Calnin, a renowned IB leadership expert, and Prof. Huang Xu, an influential professor from business management, as our guest speakers.

The IELC is a cutting-edge online programme that has attracted school leaders and professionals working in Asia-Pacific region, emphasizing educational change in East Asia context. This year, the SII brings together leaders from Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States, and Hong Kong.
