About the Seminar:
Development of early-career teachers' leadership is involved in teacher learning inside and outside schools. The learning processes are yet to be explored in relation to principals' delegation and recognition of leadership roles to the teachers in a culturally hierarchical structure. This seminar aims to explore a cross-case study of four early-career Chinese teachers' experiences of leadership development in the hierarchy of Hong Kong school system after graduation. After teaching for 5 years, the teachers' leadership are reflected in their functional roles, membership, and promotion in the schools as approved by the principals. Implications for teacher leadership development are also discussed.
