Asia Leadership Roundtable 2018

Professor Allan Walker, Joseph Lau Chair Professor of International Educational Leadership, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Human Development and Director of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change (APCLC) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), is pleased to announce that the Asia Leadership Roundtable 2018 will be hosted by the APCLC, Education Bureau of Jianggan District, Hangzhou and Institute of Schooling Reform and Development of The East China Normal University from 18 to 20 March 2018 in Hangzhou.

Themed “The West Wind vs. The East Wind: Understanding Leadership for Teacher Learning”. This year’s theme encourages 60+ regional and international education scholars and practitioners to come together to reflect upon understanding leadership as it is conceptualized and practices in different cultures. Professor Allan Walker and Mr. Xu Hui, Director of Education Bureau of Jianggan District Hangzhou, China, will officiate the opening of Asia Leadership Roundtable 2018. Professor James Spillane, Professor of the Northwestern University, Professor Philip Hallinger, Professor of the Mahidol University, Dr. Xiu Cravens, Associate Dean of Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, Dr Helen Goode and Dr Qian Haiyan, Research Fellows of APCLC, will deliver keynote speeches.

APCLC Research Fellows and International Affiliates Dr Helen Goode, Dr David Ng, Dr Nguyen Vu Bich Hien, Dr Dhirapat Kulophas, Dr Bambang Sumintono, Dr Hu Rongkun, Dr Nyeu Fong-yee, Dr James Ko, Dr Lu Jiafang and Dr Qian Haiyan will examine relationship of school leadership and teacher learning across cultures, and research methods for studying school leadership across cultures.
