About the Learning Seminar

As editor of the academic journal The International Journal of Leadership in Education for over twenty years, and an accomplished scholar in his own right, Dr. Waite will share his insights into publishing in academic journals, not just the ‘how’ but the ‘why’ as well. That is, he will share some ins and outs of publishing, both from an author’s perspective, and from an editor’s perspective. Topics will range from writing, to editing, to publishing. He will also share his thoughts on the ‘bigger picture’—why publish, where to publish, how to manage your career? Besides extending an invitation to participate in his journal’s Emergent Scholar Manuscript Competition, Dr. Waite will share from his editorial ‘Who Controls our Knowledge?’ in which he poses larger, political questions for publishing, the academy, and its role in society at large.
